Bill Brewster : Porterhouse Blues Mix For Oki-Ni

Oki-Ni's latest in their series of DJ mixes is brought to you by long time DJ and writer Bill Brewster. Bill has brought together a collection of the tracks that define the post-punk era for him, a time when genres smashed together with tremendous creative force and music expanded its frontiers in every direction.

"Most of the records I’ve selected for this mix are old favourites of mine," noted Bill, "usually bought the week of release, but some are new-old discoveries, as the advent of the internet has allowed me to indulge the endless voyage to the No Wave in my mind.”
Bill also posted a full track list breakdown with details on each track over at Oki-Ni (here)

The Dubwood Allstars : Under Dubwood 7"

Release of the day goes to this 7" on Rivertones. Produced by The Dubwood Allstars, on the A side, Under Dubwood takes a seemingly incongruous mix - the words of Dylan Thomas, the voice of Richard Burton and the studio sounds of King Tubby – and makes a psychedelic skank that places Llareggub somewhere just outside downtown Kingston, JA.
On the flip, River Theme is a Time and Space Machine reconstruction that brings wigged out garage rock to the bankside.
